Nurse Manager Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Manager. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a comprehensive understanding of nursing practices, and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
• Work closely with the CNO to develop and implement nursing policies and procedures in accordance with best practices.
• Oversee the training and development of nursing staff.
• Manage staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts.
• In conjunction with the CNO, manages the hospital pharmacy with ordering, stocking, and regular inventory of all medications utilized in the medical, surgical, and emergency department.
• Monitoring use of supplies and equipment.
• Collaborates with CNO to actively plan, research and present information at all nursing staff meetings.
• Covers nursing duties in all nursing departments (Emergency, Medical Surgical, Surgery, Clinic, and/or Specialty Clinic) when needed.
• Will act as Pharmacy Nurse for Antibiotic Stewardship purposes.
Experience
• Proven experience in a nursing management role or similar position within a healthcare setting preferred.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
