Phlebotomist - Laboratory
The Phlebotomist:

•Works under the guidance of the Laboratory Manager
•Collects blood and other specimens from hospital patients and clinic outpatients for laboratory analysis or medical purposes
•Arranges daily activities based on urgency of requests
•Determines the right venipuncture method based on patient age, health, etc.
•Finds veins that are suitable for puncture
•Labels samples correctly and send out for testing
•Reassures patients and answers questions
•Maintains work area and equipment

What You Bring/Job Requirements:

In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified Phlebotomist candidates will need the following:

•Proven experience as a Phlebotomist or Phlebotomy Technician
•Knowledge of legal requirements about drawing blood, handling fluid samples, and use of relevant medical equipment
•Ability to use computers to enter information
•Attention to detail and accurate record keeping
•Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
•Ability to connect with various types of patients, be perceptive, friendly, and have a desire to provide the exceptional care that the patients in our community deserve.
•One to three months of experience preferred

Phlebotomist Physical Requirements:

•Medium Work While Exertion
•Frequently required to stand and talk or hear
•Frequently required to walk
•Frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms
•Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
•Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception

Shift: Monday - Friday 7a-330p
